    That’s the agreement, just not the right time. I’m beginning to wonder if Thali fully understands the concept of “heartless”. O.o

      The thing is that magic-makers aren’t rare or anything. One would think she understood these things… but she doesn’t know semi-local geography either, so maybe there’s a legitimate reason?

          I think you hit it exactly. Her father doted on her, and her mother was very protective.

          Thali is such a caring, giving person, it must be quite a shock to have to deal with someone as self-centered as Shadow. As far as not knowing geography, she’s never been out of sight of her local coastline before, and since her family left, she’d been working and caring for her sick sister. We know she can read and write, because she sent a letter to her folks, and left a note for Garrett, but she might not have had time for such fripperies as geography.

          That still doesn’t explain why she’s so defensive about not knowing. I think an explaination or several are in the works (and possibly already inked and colored). 😀

          There’s also the fact that Shadow can get a birds eye view of the landscape whenever he wants.
